Racism in Germany can sometimes be a very surreal experience. There are so many times when it just doesn't make any sense, "like why would anyone actually say / do that?" It is important to acknowledge the validity of your everyday experiences and to stay grounded within your environmental contexts. But, the truth hurts sometimes. It would be great if we could shrug racism off all the time, laugh about and move on. But sometimes, just sometimes, racism gets under our skin. There is no shame in admitting that. Then what? It becomes about managing the emotional pain of racism. This is a space to come together to discuss pain management and overcoming self-doubt in a guided and most hopefully in a productive way.
