+++ For members of the Black community* +++
The question of just how helpful a positive mindset is during periods of stress is as relevant now during the pandemic as it ever was, perhaps even more so. During a time when so much control and freedom over our lives was and is restricted in lockdowns and social distancing, it became apparent that only a positive outlook was going to get us through this. Books upon books have been written about the power of thinking your way to wealth and riches. Without going so far, perhaps there is something to be said about the power to think your way to happiness no matter your surroundings. Despite not having the freedom to move around as one wishes, no one can take away your freedom to dream and imagine - nor to think positively. Many slaves have said this, and a great many prisoners too. But is it just shallow rhetoric or is there something secretly profound to learnt here? And just how possible is it to find and maintain a sense of happiness for oneself in contexts of racism and pandemics? And, where and how does one start their own happiness project?
This event will take place in English spoken language.

*With the term „For members of the Black community” we would like to point out that these workshops and events are aimed exclusively at people who position themselves as Black. That means people who are part of the African diaspora, those who experience anti- Black- racism and are categorized as non-white/ Black by the white population. In order to give racially discriminated Black people an opportunity to articulate their thoughts within a „safe space“, without experiencing exclusion and avoiding the paternalism of a majority of non- Black participants, we create certain spaces exclusively.
