GSMBTB presents: Open Culture Lab - Focus on African musical heritage and culture
The GSBTB Open Music Lab (OML) launches the Open Culture Lab, a new collaborative project with Maayan Nidam as a way to celebrate musical diversity in electronic music. The Open Culture Lab is a series of open-air events promoting a wide variety of musical journeys and cultures, through the experiences of musicians, producers, activists and members of the music industry.
On Monday 20th of July we will host the first meet-up that centers on African musical heritage and culture. We have Floyd Lavine hosting a workshop and Walizz Sarr from Freak de l'Afrique, Tracy Gregyva Bakala from Yoyaku and DJ Ukai-ndame in discussion about community organising and the heritage of African music. After the workshop & panel you will be able to hang out with event hosts, enjoy some food and listen to music by Dede.
Due to the nature of the event we will give preference to people who identify as female*, non-binary, LGBTQI+, refugees or asylum seekers or people of colour.
