Black, Brown & Vocal: Dealing with the emotional trauma of police brutality and racial injustices
As Black people we share deep feelings of frustration and anger that originate in how little value is placed on our lives and how little validation is given to our complaints about the ongoing racial injustices / discrimination present in society. Opportunities to connect, particularly on difficult and fairly taboo subjects like our mental health, enrich our lives and are our strength. In acknowledging the feelings of anger, despair, sadness and outrage we share after the brutal killing of George Floyd, this group talk is an opportunity for mutual communication to deepen our bonds and explore new ways to cope, and I invite your input.
Here's how it works: You send an email to info@afropolitan.berlin to register for the session. The session will take place on the Zoom platform (Zoom account required). Shortly before the session starts, you will receive a link via email with which you can join the discussion group. We are more than ever dependent on donations at the moment. Therefore we welcome donations to the project with regard to this event. Details will be announced soon.
Please understand that only those participants will be admitted, who participate with video and sound. This event is directed exclusively at members of the Black community. The session will be held in English.
