Afro Spirits – Tanz der Orixás: Workshop in Afro-Dance
+++ For members of the Black community +++
Two evenings full of strength, energy and Afro-spirituality from the depths of our origins, with ritual, Afro-Brazilian dances and chants, accompanied by live music.
Murah Soares is a choreographer and dancer, founder of the intercultural Forum Brasil e.V. and director of the first Candomblé Temple in Germany. In this workshop he teaches the basics of Afro-Brazilian spirituality and introduces the ritual dance world of our ancestors.
In the Afro-Brazilian religion of Candomblé, each Orixá (deity) has a characteristic rhythm, an invoking song and a dance. This ancient and highly effective dance and movement technique often leads to a kind of spiritual communication, a dance with the gods. *No dance experience is required to participate.
*** Please wear light-colored clothing, a skirt, if you like.
*** This event will take place in German spoken language, the teacher also understands English, Portuguese and Spanish.
