+++ For members of the Black community* +++
#BlackOurStoryMillennia #BlackHistoryMonth
As people who experience racism, was are constantly fighting for space in the centre, so that we can be seen and heard. At what point though is it time to reflect on our power and privileges in different spaces and different contexts. Does intersectional reflexivity take something away from the magnitude of our own struggles? True intersectionality focuses on the most stigmatised people. In situations where we are not the most stigmatised, yet all the while our struggles persist, how best can we give from the limited pool of resources we have access to without overlooking our own needs?
+ This event will take place in English spoken language.
*With the term „For members of the Black community” we would like to point out that these workshops and events are aimed exclusively at people who position themselves as Black. That means people who are part of the African diaspora, those who experience anti- Black- racism and are categorized as non-white/ Black by the white population. In order to give racially discriminated Black people an opportunity to articulate their thoughts within a „safe space“, without experiencing exclusion and avoiding the paternalism of a majority of non- Black participants, we create certain spaces exclusively.
