As part of the UN Decade for People of African Descent (PAD), we would like to share ideas about the educational opportunities of Black and Afrodiasporic children,
as well as the political participation of their parents. Parents, Afro-diasporic organizations, activists and policy representatives will come together with other stakeholders, to talk about participation opportunities, migrant parenting, digital literacy for Black children and youth,
but also to debate about policy needs for Black communities.

As Co-President of the European Parliament's Intergroup on Antiracism and Diversity (ARDI), Dr. Pierrette Herzberger-Fofana

During the network meeting she will tell us something about the possibilities of political participation of African parents.
Afterwards Alexis Kamewe from the Afrika-Forum-Aachen e. V., which deals with networking, participation and engagement of African citizens in society, will tell us about his experiences in an African association and show us the possibilities of participation.
Last but not least, Arnold Bwele will address the promotion of STEM subjects in our communities.

The event will take place on Wednesday 09 June 2021 from 11am to 2pm. Registration at: safe@narud.org.

The nationwide project SAfE (Strengthening African Parents) envisages helping parents of African origin to solve the problems of their own children in the pre-school, school and extracurricular areas; to promote the improvement of their school and educational situation and to develop alternatives in order to contribute to the equal and tolerant coexistence of people from different cultural backgrounds.
